[Financial News]  A woman in her 20s was caught by the police after leaving her 2-year-old baby alone at home for 3 days during a heatwave. The baby is reported to be out of danger.
Gyeonggi Northern Police Agency announced on the 3rd that they have booked a woman in her 20s, identified as Ms. A, without detention for investigation on charges of neglect and abandonment.
According to the police and fire authorities, a report was received on the afternoon of the 29th of last month suspecting child neglect at a villa in Yangju City.
Firefighters confirmed that the baby was alone inside the house, but the door was locked, so they had to use a fire ladder to enter through the window.
The house was filled with piles of garbage, and the 2-year-old baby was left alone. Although the weather was a heatwave, a fan was turned on.
The police arrested Ms. A and took protective measures for the baby.
The investigation revealed that Ms. A had left the baby alone for about 3 days. During her absence, it was found that she did not provide meals or change diapers for the child.
However, it was reported that there were food items within the child's reach in the house.
The police deemed Ms. A's neglect charges to be serious and applied for an arrest warrant, but the prosecution dismissed it considering various aspects of the case.
It was reported that Ms. A has been raising the child alone after separating from her husband.
