Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport decides on 748 additional cases of charter fraud damage... Cumulative purchase of 1,440 damaged houses

[Financial News] The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 3rd that during July, the Charter Fraud Damage Support Committee held three general meetings to review 1,629 cases and finally approved 748 cases as charter fraud victims.
Of the 748 approved cases, 630 are new applications (including reapplications). 118 cases were appeals against existing decisions, and it was additionally confirmed whether the conditions for charter fraud victims were met.
Of the remaining 881 cases, 504 were rejected due to non-fulfillment of conditions, and 167 were excluded as the full deposit could be refunded through guarantee insurance and priority compensation. Among the appeals, 210 cases were judged to still not meet the conditions and were dismissed.
The total number of charter fraud victims finally decided by the committee is 32,185. A total of 1,027 cases of urgent auction and public sale postponement requests have been decided, and a total of 36,141 cases of housing, financial, and legal procedures support are being provided to the decided victims.
Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) is supporting housing stability by acquiring the right of first refusal from victims, winning the auction or public sale of the relevant houses, and providing them as public rental to the victims.
As of July 30, a total of 15,267 pre-consultation requests for the purchase of damaged houses have been received from victims, of which 7,870 have completed on-site investigations and purchase reviews, informing victims that purchase is possible. A total of 1,440 damaged houses have been purchased through agreements and auctions so far. 154 buildings in violation of the Building Act were also purchased.
