[Financial News] The Emergency Committee of the Korean Medical Student Association, which led the collective action of medical students, has been dissolved after leaving behind 1 year and 5 months of medical-political conflict.

According to the Ministry of Education and medical community officials, the Emergency Committee of the Medical Student Association approved the resignation of Chairman Lee Seon-woo at a meeting held on the 30th of last month.

Along with this, the dissolution of the Emergency Committee was also decided, bringing an end to the collective response led by the Medical Student Association.

The Medical Student Association had been in a dissolved state after the end of the medical community's struggle against the government in 2020, but reformed the Emergency Committee last year as medical-political conflicts intensified, leading the collective action of medical students.

However, they faced criticism for omitting the procedure of collecting medical students' opinions while pursuing a hardline protest route, such as refusing classes. They were also criticized for proceeding without sufficient internal discussion when announcing the return to school policy last month.

Chairman Lee quietly stepped down without any explanation about the background of his resignation or future plans.

Some medical students are expressing dissatisfaction with Chairman Lee, who chose a 'quiet resignation' without resolving the remaining issues.

In an online communication room participated by over 500 medical students and residents, criticism is pouring in, calling it "irresponsible behavior" for resigning just three weeks after the announcement of returning to school.

The fact that the Emergency Committee of the Medical Student Association has effectively disbanded without a single apology for the prolonged medical-political conflict, despite universities enduring the revision of school regulations to create conditions for return and even deciding to conduct additional medical licensing exams, is also becoming a controversial issue.
