Smilegate Begins 'Road Nine' Service in Asia

[Financial News] Smilegate announced on the 1st that it has started the global service of the MMORPG 'Road Nine' in the Asian region.
The global service of 'Road Nine' was launched on July 31 in Asian regions including △Japan △Thailand △Philippines △Indonesia △Malaysia △Singapore △Cambodia △Myanmar △Laos.
Smilegate is challenging global success based on the service know-how of 'Road Nine', which was launched and succeeded in Korea and Taiwan in July last year.
Previously, Smilegate expanded its connection with local users by releasing video content through official channels such as YouTube and conducting various pre-launch events.
As a result, it confirmed high interest by closing the character name reservation event early in major regions such as Thailand, Philippines, and Japan, and by extending the event and adding two servers.
Additionally, on the 12th and 20th of last month, new game launch events were held in Japan and Thailand, respectively, introducing game content and development direction, raising expectations for local service.
'Road Nine' attracted users' attention by ranking 1st on Google Play and Apple App Store just six days after its domestic launch in July last year.
Smilegate explained that it proved the success and completeness of the work by winning the Excellence Award at the '2024 Korea Game Awards' and the 'Best Immersive MMORPG' category at the 'APAC Awards 2024' hosted by the global app market analysis agency Sensor Tower.
