[Financial News] Park Jin-seon, CEO of Sempio Foods, has been elected as the 23rd president of the Korea Food Industry Association.
The Korea Food Industry Association announced on the 31st that it decided to appoint CEO Park, who ran unopposed, as the president through an extraordinary general meeting. At the extraordinary general meeting held that day, the appointment of a non-executive president was resolved, and Park Jin-seon, CEO of Sempio Foods, was appointed as the 23rd president following the expiration of the term of Lee Hyo-yul, the association's chairman.
In his acceptance speech, the new president Park said, "I sincerely thank all the member companies for electing me, who has many shortcomings, as the 23rd president of the Korea Food Industry Association, which has played a pivotal role in the development of the Korean food industry for over half a century."
He also expressed gratitude for the dedication and hard work of Lee Hyo-yul, who served as president for the past six years.
President Park stated, "The domestic food industry is continuing its external growth in overseas markets thanks to the global K-food craze, and as a result, the annual K-food export amount is reaching record highs, playing a new driving role in the national economy." He added, "This is because our food companies are deeply aware of the current challenges and are making every effort to develop products and expand overseas as a breakthrough for survival and development." He further stated, "I feel a heavy sense of responsibility taking on the important position of president at this crucial time, but I promise to meet the expectations of the member companies with the relentless passion and dedication of all executives and employees."
