Daegu Police Agency announced on July 31 that they are focusing all efforts on spectator safety and order maintenance by conducting joint training with special forces, drone teams, and traffic police on July 30 in preparation for the friendly match between FC Barcelona and Daegu FC to be held at Daegu Stadium on August 4.
This joint training focused on blocking various terrorist acts, rapid response, and high-altitude observation to immediately identify crowded conditions.
In particular, efficient operation plans to alleviate traffic congestion were comprehensively reviewed.
In addition, a close cooperation system was established with related organizations from the stage of establishing safety management plans, and a self-meeting was held to review and complete preparations.
Lee Seung-hyeop, Chief of Daegu Police Agency, emphasized, "As the visit of the world-renowned club FC Barcelona draws nationwide attention, we will focus all efforts in cooperation with related organizations to ensure that everyone visiting the stadium can enjoy the game safely."
On the day of the match, Daegu Police plan to deploy 250 police officers including special forces and drone teams, 2 drones, 1 broadcasting vehicle, and various safety management equipment.
They also plan to conduct safety inspections at the airport where the team arrives and the stadium, and monitor crowded situations in real-time using drones before and after the match.
In addition, mobile patrol units will be deployed at key locations such as ticket booths to crack down on illegal ticket sales and basic order violations, and they plan to respond strictly to crimes such as online fraud disguised as ticket sales.
