[Financial News] HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, the intermediate holding company for HD Hyundai's shipbuilding division, announced in a conference call on the 31st that "the order reflection portion included in the second quarter is 65% for HD Hyundai Heavy Industries in 2022, 31% in 2023, and 2% in 2024. HD Hyundai Mipo is 12% in 2022, 56% in 2023, and 32% in 2024. HD Hyundai Samho is 42% in 2022, 55% in 2023, and 3% in 2024," and "special ship sales increased by 35% compared to the previous quarter to 226.8 billion won. This is due to the increase in warship sales. Operating profit increased by 5.1% compared to the previous quarter to 26.9 billion won," it stated.
It continued, "As the exchange rate fell by 49 won from 1,404 won compared to the previous quarter, an exchange rate loss of 46 billion won occurred. Excluding only the exchange rate part, it can be seen that an excellent profit margin was achieved. The increase in first-half performance bonuses was temporarily reflected in the second quarter," it said.
