Preference for life-oriented industries such as production, construction, labor, dining, and driving stands out
[Financial News] The demand for reemployment among the middle-aged is rapidly increasing due to early retirement and the accelerated retirement of the second baby boom generation.
The job platform Flea Market announced on the 31st that resumes registered from January to June this year showed a 76.7% increase in resumes from the middle-aged over 50 compared to the same period last year. By gender, men over 50 showed an increase of 85.9%, which was larger than that of women (64.9%). By age group, those in their 50s increased by 62.9%, those in their 60s by 104.4%, and those over 70 by 152.0%, showing a more pronounced increase with age. In particular, resumes from women over 70 surged by 184.9% compared to the previous year, recording the highest increase rate.
The most preferred industries for the middle-aged were production, construction, and labor (27.6%). This was followed by dining and beverages (18.6%), driving and delivery (15.8%), services (15.4%), store management and sales (7.2%), and office work (4.9%). In terms of specific industries, production and manufacturing (8.4%) were the most common, followed by kitchen assistance and dishwashing (6.7%), serving (5.8%), security and guard (4.9%), and cleaning and beautification (4.9%).

Flea Market provides customized job information through age-specific recruitment channels such as the Youth Channel (under 40), Middle-aged Channel (40s-50s), and Senior Channel (over 60).
