Hanwha Aerospace Achieves Record Performance: Sales 6.2 Trillion, Operating Profit 0.8 Trillion

[Financial News] Hanwha Aerospace achieved the highest-ever performance in the second quarter as exports of ground defense expanded and the high-profit ship sales ratio of its subsidiary Hanwha Ocean increased.
Hanwha Aerospace announced on the 31st that it recorded consolidated sales of 6.2735 trillion won and an operating profit of 864.4 billion won in the second quarter of this year, an increase of 169% and 156% respectively compared to the same period last year.
By business, the ground defense sector recorded sales of 1.7732 trillion won and an operating profit of 554.3 billion won, an increase of 33% and 113% respectively compared to the same period last year. Overseas sales increased by 43% compared to the same period last year, accounting for 1.0834 trillion won due to the rapid supply of the multiple rocket launcher Cheonmu. The aviation business saw sales increase by 20% to 648.9 billion won compared to the same period last year but turned to a deficit.
The subsidiary Hanwha Ocean achieved sales of 3.2941 trillion won and an operating profit of 371.7 billion won as sales of high-profit LNG carriers in the merchant ship division expanded. Hanwha Systems recorded sales of 768.2 billion won and an operating profit of 33.5 billion won.
A representative from Hanwha Aerospace said, "The second quarter continued solid growth thanks to strong performance in the ground defense sector and stable performance of Hanwha Ocean," adding, "In the second half, we will expand orders focusing on the Middle East and Europe and secure new future growth engines through the successful 4th launch of Nuriho."
