60-Year-Old Chinese Man Arrested on Murder Charges
Seoul Guro Police Station announced on the 31st that they have arrested a 60-year-old Chinese man, Mr. A, on charges of murder and are investigating him.
Mr. A is accused of stabbing a woman in her 50s, with whom he lived, multiple times with a weapon at a building in Garibong-dong, Guro-gu, around 3:20 a.m. that day.
The victim was transferred to the hospital in cardiac arrest but ultimately died.
Mr. A reportedly stated in the police investigation that "when he notified the victim of the breakup, she came with a kitchen knife to harm him, so he took it away and stabbed her."
It was confirmed that the victim had previously reported Mr. A to the police twice. Mr. A was sentenced to a fine for assaulting the victim, who was his former partner, in June 2023. Also, on the 26th, a report was filed by the victim stating 'someone is harassing me,' but the next day, the victim testified that there was a verbal argument but it was resolved, and the case was closed.
