[Financial News] Samsung Electronics stated in its Q2 2025 earnings conference call on July 31 that "we believe uncertainty has been reduced through the settlement of negotiations between Korea and the US" and "we are closely monitoring the additional discussion process between the two countries on the details of the agreement announced this time and will prepare response measures accordingly."
They continued, "We are also closely monitoring the results of the US Department of Commerce's Section 232 investigation into semiconductors and semiconductor derivative products, expected to be announced in mid-August," explaining that "since not only semiconductors but also finished products such as smartphones, tablets, PCs, and monitors are included in the investigation, the impact on our business is expected to be significant."
Samsung Electronics has been directly and indirectly expressing opinions during the US Department of Commerce's Section 232 investigation process and has been in close communication with the relevant authorities of both countries.
The company stated, "We plan to prepare response measures to minimize the impact on our business by thoroughly analyzing the opportunities and risks according to the results of the Section 232 investigation and the consultation results between Korea and the US regarding semiconductors."
