[Financial News] No Yongseok, Vice Minister of SMEs and Startups, held a meeting with embassy officials at the Government Seoul Building on July 31.
This meeting was organized to explain the overall plan for the 'Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) SME Ministerial Meeting' to be held in Jeju in September and to request active participation and cooperation from governments of various countries for its successful hosting.
Vice Minister No emphasized, "The APEC SME Ministerial Meeting is a significant meeting being held in Korea again after 20 years, and it is a very meaningful occasion to discuss the present and future of domestic and international SMEs," adding, "Solidarity and policy exchange among APEC member countries are more important than ever."
Additionally, Vice Minister No added, "SMEs are the key players driving sustainable growth and innovation in the global economy," and "I hope that this meeting will lay the foundation for practical cooperation among APEC member countries."
The APEC SME Ministerial Meeting will focus on the theme of 'SMEs as Agents of Sustainable and Inclusive Growth' and will discuss △innovation cases of companies using artificial intelligence (AI), △policy efforts of each country in response to population decline, climate change, etc., and △cooperation between large and small businesses and public-private partnerships for inclusive growth.
In addition to the official schedule of the APEC SME Ministerial Meeting, various related events such as △Challenge! K-Startup △Global Venture Investment Summit, and 10 other events will be held.
No Yongseok, Vice Minister of SMEs, said, "I expect that this meeting will accelerate cooperation with member countries," and "I plan to continue communication through meetings with APEC member countries in other regions and embassy visits in the future."
