Samsung C&T, Ranked 1st in Construction Capability Evaluation for 12 Consecutive Years.. Hyundai 2nd, Daewoo 3rd

[Financial News] Samsung C&T ranked first in the construction company's construction capability evaluation for 12 consecutive years.
According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on the 31st, Samsung C&T ranked first with a total evaluation amount of 34.7219 trillion won in the 2025 construction capability evaluation conducted on 73,657 companies nationwide. Following this, Hyundai Engineering & Construction ranked second with a total evaluation amount of 17.2485 trillion won, and Daewoo Engineering & Construction ranked third with 11.8969 trillion won. Next, DL E&C, GS E&C, Hyundai Engineering, POSCO E&C, Lotte E&C, SK Ecoplant, and HDC Hyundai Development Company made it to the top 10. The top 10 construction company list is the same as last year, with DL E&C and GS E&C each rising one rank.
In the comprehensive construction industry by sector, Samsung C&T (13.6904 trillion won), Hyundai Engineering & Construction (11.3433 trillion won), and Hyundai Engineering (10.2359 trillion won) ranked 1st to 3rd in the civil engineering and architecture sector. In the civil engineering sector, Daewoo Engineering & Construction (2.4573 trillion won), Hyundai Engineering & Construction (1.9187 trillion won), and SK Ecoplant (1.5457 trillion won) were ranked, while in the architecture sector, Samsung C&T (12.3184 trillion won), Hyundai Engineering & Construction (9.4246 trillion won), and Hyundai Engineering (9.3027 trillion won) were tallied.
In terms of major construction types, Daewoo Engineering & Construction recorded high performance in the road sector with 793.6 billion won, GS E&C with 628.1 billion won, and POSCO E&C with 567.2 billion won. In the railway sector, POSCO E&C (536.4 billion won), Hyundai Engineering (489.6 billion won), and DL E&C (428.4 billion won) were ranked. In the apartment sector, Hyundai Engineering & Construction recorded 6.2871 trillion won, GS E&C 6.0528 trillion won, and Daewoo Engineering & Construction 4.9898 trillion won, ranking 1st to 3rd.
The construction capability evaluation is a system that comprehensively evaluates construction performance, management status, technical capability, and credibility to allow clients to select appropriate construction companies, and it is announced annually. This year, about 84.5% of the total 87,131 construction companies participated in the evaluation.
This year's results will be applied from August 1 and will be used for bid qualification restrictions, contractor selection, credit evaluation, and guarantee review when ordering construction projects.
