According to Homeplus on the 30th, the 'Homeplus Hanmaeum Council', which is both a labor-management council and an employee representative body, submitted an appeal to the Presidential Office for the swift conclusion of Homeplus's rehabilitation process and the smooth progress of the pre-approval M&A.
The appeal was voluntarily signed by a total of 21,888 employees and partners working at Homeplus's nationwide stores, express stores, online business units, logistics centers, headquarters, and mall tenants. This corresponds to the current total number of Homeplus employees. The Hanmaeum Council stated, "Beyond mere numbers, this signature campaign reflects the desperate will to protect livelihoods and workplaces amidst uncertain circumstances," emphasizing that "if the rehabilitation process is prolonged, the company's value will decrease and the likelihood of recovery will diminish, making the pre-approval M&A essential."
The Hanmaeum Council explained, "Regardless of the cause of the rehabilitation, what is most urgent for the current employees is a stable daily life and workplace," adding that "the employees sincerely hope that the company will normalize as soon as possible so that they can return to the past happy life where they received a fixed salary at the end of the month, even if not affluent, and spent simple daily life with their families." The council added, "We hope the government will recognize this issue not just as a simple management issue but as one encompassing employment, livelihood consumption, and the local economy."
