Sharing the latest orthodontic prosthetics technology, boosting industry interest
[Financial News] Osstem Implant successfully concluded the orthodontic prosthetics competition for the development of dentistry and nurturing of field experts, continuing its path of mutual growth with the dental community. Osstem Implant announced on the 30th that the 'Orthodontic Prosthetics Contest', held to share clinical technology and discover talent in the field of orthodontic prosthetics, was successfully completed with high participation from attendees.
This competition, following last year's 'Digital Esthetic Prosthetics Contest', was the second large-scale event aimed at sharing the latest orthodontic prosthetics technology and boosting industry interest.
The contest was divided into general orthodontics and clear aligners categories, and went through preliminaries and finals over about 7 months. The finals were held on the 12th at the Osstem Implant Central Research Institute in Magok, Seoul, where participants presented their device production results, production processes, and digital setup plans to the judges.
The judging was conducted fairly by three experts: Director Hwang Chungju of Osstem Implant Education Research Institute, Professor Kim Yoonji of Seoul Asan Medical Center, and Professor Kim Jinsung of Dongnam Health University. A total of 70 people participated in the general orthodontics category, with 6 advancing to the finals, and 41 participated in the clear aligners category, with 6 also advancing to the finals.
The grand prize was awarded to technician Song Gwanwoo (Saeroi Orthodontic Dental Laboratory) in the general orthodontics category, and technician Jo Hoyeon (Yonsei University Dental Hospital) in the clear aligners category. All finalists received prize money and clinical research support funds according to their award levels.
In addition, the company officially launched the self-developed clear aligner 'MagicAlign' in 2022 to enhance treatment expertise, and its subsidiary Osstem Ortho is focusing on expanding market share by completing the self-ligating bracket 'MAJESTY' lineup.
An Osstem Implant representative stated, “Through this contest, we were able to once again confirm the passion and high level of technology of dental technicians,” adding, “We will continue to expand education and competition programs to enhance the development of dentistry and the competitiveness of the domestic dental industry.”
