[Financial News] It has been identified that broadcaster Park Soo-hong (55) has been accused of threatening the CEO of a food company amid a legal dispute.
According to the police on the 29th, CEO A of the food company filed a complaint with the Gangnam Police Station on the 14th, claiming that Park's side threatened him.
Both parties have been in a legal battle over the use of portrait rights since September last year. Previously, Park's agency demanded approximately 500 million won in settlement money, claiming that A's company used Park's image in advertisements without permission, and a trial is underway at the Suwon District Court Seongnam Branch.
A claims, "They are demanding more profit than originally agreed," and "This accusation is related to that."
According to the complaint, Park's lawyer B allegedly told A in June last year, "You should apologize and beg on your knees," and "You should plead for your life."
A claims, "When I refused the demand, they pressured me by using the status of a famous entertainer and lawyer, mentioning the company's bankruptcy and damage to business partners as threats."
A claims that the statement was made under Park's direction and directly accused Park instead of lawyer B.
In response, lawyer B countered, "We only told them to stop using the advertisement if they don't pay after using the image for over a year without a contract," and "The claim of threat is nonsense as the other party is a relative of a prominent former government official."
