[Financial News] Film composer Jo Sung-woo, music director, will hold the '30th Anniversary Film Music Symphony Concert' today (29th) at the Lotte Concert Hall in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
He debuted by taking charge of the film music for Kim Sung-soo's debut work 'Runaway' in 1995 and is considered a musician who elevated the status of Korean film music in the 1990s with works such as Heo Jin-ho's 'Christmas in August', 'One Fine Spring Day', Kim Yoo-jin's 'The Promise', and Lee Jae-yong's 'An Affair'.
This concert will feature the film music of 'Runaway', 'One Fine Spring Day', 'When Spring Comes', 'The Promise', 'No Mercy for the Rude', 'Late Autumn', 'Christmas in August', and other precious film music. A symphony live performance will follow along with various stories.
Additionally, it will be a meaningful opportunity to see his representative works on stage, including the drama OSTs of 'Fireworks', the Korea-Japan joint drama 'Friends', 'Lost', 'Maestra', and the musical 'Dae Jang Geum', which opened the curtain for large theater original musicals.
Musical diva Lee So-jung and Forte di Quattro member Austin Kim will also join. Lee So-jung moved to the United States in the 1990s, was discovered by world-renowned musical producer Cameron Mackintosh, and took on the lead role in 'Miss Saigon' and the role of Princess Jasmine in Disney's musical Aladdin, making her a representative original musical diva of Korea. In 2000, she worked with Director Jo on the theme song 'One (ONE)' for the Korea-Japan joint drama 'Friends' commemorating the Korea-Japan World Cup.
Austin Kim, who is also a member of 'Forte di Quattro', the runner-up team of the audition program Phantom Singer, will reinterpret 'One Fine Spring Day', originally sung by Jaurim's vocalist Kim Yoon-ah, with his own emotions.
