[Financial News] In connection with the incident where a 20-month-old boy drowned at the outdoor swimming pool in Ttukseom Hangang Park, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, the police have handed over the representative of the swimming pool management company to the prosecution.
Seoul Gwangjin Police Station announced on the 29th that they have charged the representative of the management company, Mr. A, in his 30s, with negligent homicide and violation of the Act on the Installation and Use of Sports Facilities.
According to the police, Mr. A is accused of not deploying safety personnel in the swimming pool according to legal standards.
Earlier, on the 27th of last month, around 6:45 PM, a foreign national boy, Mr. B (20 months), was found in a state of cardiac arrest after falling into 1m deep water at the outdoor swimming pool in Ttukseom Hangang Park. CPR was performed following a report from a nurse on the scene, but the child died after being transferred to the hospital.
The police investigation revealed that at the time of the accident, there should have been at least two safety personnel stationed at the main pool watchtower, but the standards were not met, and some personnel were found to be unqualified.
A police official stated, "We will thoroughly investigate safety accidents involving human casualties and hold those responsible accountable."
