[Financial News] Nextchip has decided to supply a high-resolution video transmission system (vision system) for collaborative robots to domestic robotics company A.
According to Nextchip on the 28th, the vision system to be supplied this time utilizes its proprietary 'AHD' technology to solve high-resolution camera performance issues mounted on collaborative robots. After signing a contract with Company A last April and undergoing evaluation tests, Nextchip plans to deliver the vision system in the fourth quarter.
Collaborative robots adopt a multi-stage connection method due to the characteristics of their joint structure. For this reason, existing high-resolution cameras could not perform their functions due to signal attenuation and noise generation. Nextchip's AHD technology improves the analog signal transmission method, enabling stable high-resolution video signal transmission even in a multi-stage connection environment.
Nextchip is expanding its semiconductor business area from existing automobiles to the robotics field, securing new growth engines. In particular, as the robotics market grows, the demand for vision technology is surging, and it is expected to secure a stable revenue base in the future.
A Nextchip representative said, "Through collaboration with various robotics companies, we have proven that our vision technology is competitive in the robotics field," adding, "We will significantly contribute to improving the performance of essential vision systems for collaborative and service robots."
He added, "We will expand the scope of application to various robots in line with the rapid growth of the robotics market and strengthen the company's growth potential based on the expansion of sales in the robotics field this year."
