[Financial News] Air Force Chief of Staff Lee Young-su is visiting Saudi Arabia to meet with high-ranking Air Force officials and conduct 'K-Defense Diplomacy' activities.
According to the Air Force on the 28th, Chief Lee will visit the Saudi General Staff Headquarters, Air Force Command, Air Defense Command, Air Force Air Warfare Center, and Air Force Academy from today until the 1st of next month to discuss defense and defense industry cooperation agendas.
During the schedule, Chief Lee plans to meet with key figures such as Chief of General Staff Fayad bin Hamad Al Ruwaili (Air Force General), Air Force Commander Turki bin Bandar Al Saud (Lieutenant General), Deputy Commander of the Air Defense Command Mazayad bin Sulaiman Al Amro (Air Force Lieutenant General), Air Force Air Warfare Center Director Mohammed Al Amri (Major General), and Air Force Academy Director Mohammed Al Hammad (Major General).
Korea and Saudi Arabia held the 3rd Military Cooperation Committee in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on June 19 to discuss △security situation assessment △military exchange activation △education and training cooperation △defense industry cooperation.
Saudi Arabia has introduced medium-range surface-to-air missiles Cheongung-II and Chunmoo multiple rocket launcher systems and is pursuing defense industry cooperation with Korea in various fields such as K-9 self-propelled howitzers, K-2 tanks, ground weapon systems, ships, and aircraft.
