[Financial News] Daedong Group's AI robot specialist company Daedong Robotics has launched the first government-certified autonomous agricultural transport robot in Korea, aiming to penetrate the smart agriculture market.
Daedong Robotics announced on the 28th that it will release the autonomous transport robot nationwide, which has obtained the 'Autonomous Agricultural Power Transport Vehicle' certification from the Korea Agricultural Technology Promotion Agency. This model, which was introduced last February as a wire-following transport robot, has been equipped with a 3D camera, obstacle recognition LiDAR, and dual RTK antennas to enhance precision autonomous driving capabilities.
Operators can set up to 10 autonomous routes and 11 stops through the dedicated app 'Daedong Robot Service'. Real-time destination changes and return commands are possible even during autonomous driving, allowing cargo transport without intervention except for loading and unloading tasks.
This robot can also be controlled via a wireless remote for movement and lift/dump operations. The open-deck structure on three sides enhances loading and unloading convenience. The autonomous driving function can be easily set through the app or main control switch, and it supports shared control functions, allowing multiple users to register and use a single robot.
The product is available for purchase at over 150 Daedong dealerships nationwide, and a rental service is also being piloted. Daedong Robotics plans to expand the product's application range so that the autonomous transport robot can be used not only in agriculture but also in various industries such as construction.
Ye Jun-gu, CEO of Daedong Robotics, said, “This autonomous transport robot is the starting point for the full-scale introduction of AI robot technology in domestic agricultural sites,” adding, “We have completed technology verification (PoC) in overseas farms and will expand AI robot-based businesses into various industrial fields in the future.”
Meanwhile, Daedong Robotics is accelerating the development of next-generation robots that support multifunctions such as AI voice recognition, pest control, and weeding based on autonomous driving technology. The company plans to continuously release field-customized smart agriculture solutions and expand its product lineup.
