[Financial News] Hyundai Motor announced on the 28th that it has launched the dedicated electric vehicle 'The New Ioniq 6 (Ioniq 6)', which achieved the longest driving range on a single charge among domestic electric vehicles. It is a facelift model introduced three years after its launch in September 2022, characterized by improved battery performance, various convenience features, and a high level of design completion.
The Ioniq 6 Long Range model achieved the longest single-charge driving range of 562㎞ among domestic electric vehicles based on the 4th generation battery of 84㎾h and excellent aerodynamic performance. The Standard model also features a 4th generation battery of 63㎾h, securing a single-charge driving range of 437㎞, which is 70㎞ longer than before. In addition, despite design changes, it maintains an air resistance coefficient of 0.21, boasting the best aerodynamic performance among Hyundai Motor Group vehicles.
The new car is equipped with the 'Air Conditioning Seat Detection Function', which automatically detects whether there are passengers and operates the air conditioning system, and the 'Smooth Mode', which minimizes motion sickness with smooth acceleration and deceleration, for the first time. Additionally, various convenience features have been applied, such as the 'Smart Regeneration System 3.0', which automatically sets the optimal regenerative braking amount for each situation using navigation information such as speed cameras and speed bumps, enhancing product value.
Driving feel and quietness have also been improved. The 'Frequency Adaptive Shock Absorber' previously applied has been improved to enhance driving performance, and the area of sound-absorbing materials around the rear motor has been expanded, and optimized sound-absorbing tires have been newly applied to create a quiet interior environment.
Design-wise, the front features thin and sleek daytime running lights (DRL) and headlamps separated from the main lamp, creating a futuristic image. The side features a dynamic silhouette with newly designed aero wheels and black garnish extending to the lower part of the vehicle doors.
The interior has refined the arrangement of center console components to enhance user usability and convenience. Additionally, luxurious materials have been used on the 3-spoke steering wheel and door trim, adding a sophisticated image.
The selling price, after applying electric vehicle tax benefits, is △E-Value+ 48.56 million won △Exclusive 50.95 million won △Prestige 55.53 million won for the Standard model, and △E-Lite 50.64 million won △Exclusive 55.15 million won △Exclusive N Line 57.45 million won △Prestige 59.73 million won △Prestige N Line 61.32 million won for the Long Range 2WD model. Adding government and local government subsidies is expected to further lower the actual purchase price.
A Hyundai Motor official said, "The New Ioniq 6, equipped with a 4th generation battery, has secured the longest driving range among domestic electric vehicles," adding, "With overwhelming product value, it will establish itself as a key model in the domestic market, which has entered the full-fledged electrification era."
