Hankook Tire Supplies New Tires for Xiaomi's Electric SUV in China

[Financial News]  Hankook Tire & Technology (Hankook Tire) announced on the 28th that it will supply electric vehicle-specific performance tires 'iON Evo SUV' as new car tires for Xiaomi's first electric crossover sports utility vehicle (SUV) 'YU7'.
'iON Evo SUV' is a tire made in collaboration between Hankook Tire and Xiaomi, featuring high grip, braking, and handling performance to support stable driving in various road conditions. It applies a design tailored to the high torque, load, and quietness requirements of electric vehicles to complement vehicle driving performance.
Considering the characteristics of SUVs equipped with large-capacity batteries, a high-load response tire profile was applied, evenly distributing ground pressure and improving cornering stiffness by about 10%. To ensure high-speed driving stability, an aramid hybrid reinforcement belt was applied, and an electric vehicle-specific compound capable of all-season driving was used.
Additionally, to reduce rolling resistance and improve energy efficiency, low-temperature uniform rubber curing technology was applied, enhancing energy efficiency by up to 6% and increasing mileage by up to 15%. 'iON Evo SUV' is supplied in two sizes, 19-inch and 20-inch, for the 'YU7'.
Through this supply, Hankook Tire plans to strengthen its collaboration with local brands in China, the world's largest electric vehicle market.
