"Leading Local Government Administration AX" KT Begins Building Generative AI Platform in Gyeonggi-do

[Financial News] KT announced on the 28th that it will officially start the 'Gyeonggi Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) Platform Construction' project promoted by Gyeonggi-do. This project, with a total scale of 13.1 billion KRW, is the first case in a nationwide metropolitan local government to apply generative AI technology to administrative work in earnest as an artificial intelligence transition (AX) case.
KT will implement services based on administrative-specialized AI models by providing Gyeonggi-do customized application of the Korean-specialized large language model (LLM) 'Mi:um 2.0', providing the integrated LLM operation platform 'KT AI Studio', and integrating generative AI into the Gyeonggi Provincial Government's administrative system to support AI tasks centered on practical work such as document writing, meeting management, and information search. This project involves five companies, including KT, MT Data, WiseNut, Conan Technology, and Daishin Information & Communication, participating in the construction of the generative AI platform.
In the future, KT plans to accumulate demonstration cases of generative AI in the public sector and lead the digital transformation of administrative work at the metropolitan local government level. It is expected that by applying administrative domain materials based on 'Mi:um 2.0', it will simultaneously increase practical work efficiency required by public institutions and the public's access to public information.
Meanwhile, KT participates in the government's 'Independent AI Foundation Model Development Project'. With the goal of implementing 'AI for All' that the public can feel, centered on the independently developed Korean AI model Mi:um 2.0.
In particular, KT will establish a lineup of general-purpose services in four major areas: law, safety, education, and healthcare. It aims to materialize public-specialized services in areas closely related to daily life, such as AI case summary and legal consultation, crime prediction and response, AI learning coach, and AI nursing administration service. It is expected to be a substantial innovation that leads to the improvement of the quality of life of the people and the enhancement of national competitiveness, beyond simple technology development.
