Focus on safety sector to address care gaps
[Financial News] Seoul City will operate 6,900 social contribution jobs by the second half of the year to address care gaps. The recruitment for the second half will be allocated across public facilities such as elementary schools and kindergartens. Any Seoul citizen aged between 40 and 67 can apply.
Seoul City announced on the 27th that it will additionally recruit 1,200 participants for the second half of the 'Middle-aged Value Co-Working Jobs'. Following the selection of a record 5,700 people in the first half, the project expansion was decided through a supplementary budget in June.
'Middle-aged Value Co-Working Jobs' is a representative social contribution job project of Seoul City, newly launched this year. It utilizes the experience and capabilities of the middle-aged in various fields such as public, education, and welfare to provide high-quality services to citizens and open opportunities for sustainable social participation and economic activities for the middle-aged.
Selected participants will be assigned to sites requiring care and safety, such as elementary Nulbom Schools, public and private kindergartens, and community welfare facilities. In particular, it focuses on life-oriented care and safety areas for 'Safe City Seoul', such as elementary school commuting safety guidance, kindergarten meal and care assistance, and community welfare facility operation assistance.
The city will deploy about 300 people to elementary Nulbom classes, 550 to public and private kindergartens, about 100 to elementary schools (including commuting safety guidance), and 250 to community welfare facilities, totaling 1,200 people.
Any citizen aged 40-67 residing in Seoul or with a business address in Seoul can apply from the 28th to August 11th. The final selected participants will be active for three months from September to November. Detailed information and applications can be found on the '50 Plus Portal'.
Applicants will be selected through document screening after eligibility review based on age and residence. During the activity period, they will receive a monthly activity fee of 571,710 won before tax for 57 hours.
Jung Jin-woo, Director of the Seoul Lifelong Education Bureau, said, "We have decided to additionally deploy 1,200 people reflecting the needs of the field requiring support for the Middle-aged Value Co-Working Jobs," and "We hope that the experience and capabilities of the middle-aged will demonstrate value in care and welfare fields and lead to the realization of 'Safe City Seoul'."
