[Financial News] Jeju Air announced on the 27th that it held a launch ceremony for the Busan-Shanghai (Pudong) route, which will operate four times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday) starting from the 25th at Gimhae International Airport.
Jeju Air's Busan-Shanghai (Pudong) route departs from Gimhae International Airport at 10:05 PM (local time) and arrives at Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 10:55 PM on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and at 11:10 PM on Sunday. The return flight departs from Pudong Airport at 4:00 AM and arrives at Gimhae Airport at 6:40 AM.
Shanghai has a diverse demand for tourism, study, and business, and is also popular as a family travel destination due to the presence of the world-renowned theme park, Disneyland.
Jeju Air is expanding its routes to China in response to the increasing demand for travel to China following the Chinese government's visa-free entry policy for Koreans in November last year. Additionally, with the Korean government's plan to temporarily allow visa-free entry for Chinese group tourists from the third quarter, the number of Chinese tourists visiting Korea is expected to increase significantly.
Jeju Air resumed operations of the Jeju-Xi'an route twice a week (Tuesday and Saturday) from May, and the Incheon-Weihai route will be increased to three times a week until October 25. From October 1, the Incheon-Guilin route will operate four times a week (Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday).
