[Financial News] President Lee Jaemyung will dispatch a special envoy to four major countries. This diplomatic move aims to explain the new government's national philosophy and foreign policy stance, which launched last month, and to directly deliver a message from the president to strengthen bilateral cooperative relations.
Kang Yujeong, spokesperson for the Presidential Office, stated in a written briefing on the 25th, "Our government will dispatch a presidential special envoy to four countries, including Poland, Vietnam, Australia, and Germany, to announce the return of democratic Korea to the international community and to explain our national philosophy and foreign policy." The special envoy is scheduled to depart sequentially starting on the 27th.
The special envoy to Poland will be led by Representative Park Jiwon, accompanied by Representatives Eo Gigu and Jin Seonmi. They plan to discuss ways to expand defense cooperation and strategic partnership. In Vietnam, former Representative Lee Ingi will lead the delegation, joined by Representatives Yoon Huduk and Baek Hyeryeon, to discuss strengthening comprehensive strategic partnerships and expanding infrastructure and energy cooperation. The Australian special envoy will be led by former National Assembly Speaker Kim Jinpyo, with former Representatives Kim Youngho and Park Yongjin participating. The main agenda includes defense, trade, supply chain cooperation, and strengthening strategic communication. The German special envoy will be led by former Legislation Minister Lee Seokyeon, accompanied by Representatives Kwon Chilsung and Kim Youngbae, to exchange views on practical cooperation in manufacturing, digital, AI, and international affairs.
Spokesperson Kang stated, "This dispatch of special envoys is significant as it marks the first high-level bilateral diplomatic visit since the new government was inaugurated," and added, "They will deliver President Lee's personal letters to each country's leader and strengthen strategic communication."
