[Financial News] "Is it a Zootopia and K-League collaboration?"
On the morning of the 25th at 11 AM, the event zone in front of the basement 1st floor of The Hyundai Seoul in Yeouido was filled with crowds trying to enter the 'CU K-League-Zootopia pop-up store'. Citizens shopping also showed curiosity, saying, "What kind of pop-up is it that people are gathering?"
The 'K-League-Zootopia' pop-up store, which opened that day, was prepared by CU in collaboration with the Korea Professional Football League and Walt Disney Company Korea. The 100-pyeong event hall was composed of character photo zones and various goods and experience elements such as collaboration uniforms of each club, dolls, gacha machines, and printing boxes.
In particular, uniforms featuring the protagonists 'Nick' and 'Judy' of Zootopia, as well as pet clothing and doll-specific clothes, were prepared for each of the 26 K-League clubs, and various goods such as keyrings caught the eye. News that some products can only be purchased as pop-up exclusives spread among soccer fans, and the queue for entry continued throughout the morning.
The '2025 Season K-League Official Trading Cards', where you can randomly obtain limited edition player autograph cards, captain cards, and fan art cards, are also available for purchase at 18,000 CU stores nationwide from that day.
A CU official stated, "We plan to consider selling the products that received a good response at this pop-up in regular stores in the future."
Mr. Jeong (26), who visited this pop-up wearing a Jeonbuk Hyundai uniform, said, "I took the bus from Cheonan at 9 AM and came up," and "I succeeded in pre-ordering and decided to pick up the goods at 12, so I came up to Seoul early to look around." Mr. Park (19), a high school student and a fan of Seoul FC, said, "As a soccer fan, I usually collect club goods diligently, but the Zootopia and soccer collaboration is new," and "I really wanted to come because I enjoyed watching 'Zootopia' when I was young."
At the opening site that day, Min Seung-bae, CEO of BGF Retail, Kwon Oh-gap, president of the Korea Professional Football League, Jeong Ji-young, president of Hyundai Department Store, and Kim So-yeon, CEO of Disney Korea, attended and held the opening ceremony.
Min Seung-bae, CEO of BGF Retail, said, "Today is a meaningful collaboration site created by four companies representing distribution, content, sports, and lifestyle," and "CU will continue to offer diverse and creative experiences through connections with various brands."
