[Financial News] The KOSPI index is showing mixed trends in the early session on the 25th, fluctuating around the 3190 level.
As of 10:35 AM, the KOSPI index is trading at 3192.59, up 0.07% from the previous trading day. Today, KOSPI started at 3184.37, down 0.19% from the previous session, and continues to fluctuate within a narrow range.
In the stock market, foreigners are net buyers of 79 billion KRW. On the other hand, individuals and institutions are net sellers of 26.8 billion KRW and 67.2 billion KRW, respectively.
Among the top market cap stocks, Samsung Electronics (0.15%), SK Hynix (0.19%), Hanwha Aerospace (0.32%), and KB Financial (1.19%) are strong. On the other hand, LG Energy Solution (-2.99%), Samsung Biologics (-1.01%), and Doosan Enerbility (-0.31%) are weak.

The heightened caution in the stock market is attributed to the red light on Korea-US tariff negotiations. The '2+2 trade talks' scheduled for today between the finance and trade ministers of Korea and the US were canceled a day before the scheduled date due to the urgent schedule of US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant. The date for the imposition of reciprocal tariffs by the US is set for the 1st of next month, leaving only about a week.
Lee Seong-hoon, a researcher at Kiwoom Securities, said, "Today's domestic stock market is expected to continue a differentiated trend amid the ongoing second-quarter earnings season, with major companies such as Doosan Enerbility, Shinhan Financial Group, and HDC Hyundai Development Company announcing their earnings. Given the challenging situation for a smooth resolution of the Korea-US tariff negotiations, it is necessary to keep in mind that sectors sensitive to tariffs may experience high stock price volatility until next week."
At this time, the KOSDAQ index is trading at 808.44, down 0.18% from the previous session. In the KOSDAQ market, institutions are net sellers of 82.9 billion KRW. Individuals and foreigners are net buyers of 93.2 billion KRW and 23.9 billion KRW, respectively.
