Yoon Seok-yeol, the former president, declared assets amounting to 8 billion won, the highest among the current disclosure subjects.
The reported amount increased by more than 500 million won compared to the previous declaration.
The Government Officials Ethics Committee announced on the 25th that former President Yoon declared assets of 7.99115 billion won upon retirement following the Constitutional Court's impeachment decision last April.
Compared to the 7.63999 billion won declared upon his inauguration in May 2022, his assets increased by about 350 million won over his 2 years and 11 months term.
Due to the increase in real estate value and deposits, the assets increased by about 500 million won compared to the details disclosed at the end of 2023.
Most of the assets were found to be in the name of his spouse, Kim Keon-hee.
The couple's residence in Seocho-gu, Seoul, is in Kim's name, with an official land price of approximately 1.94 billion won.
Kim also owns 12 plots of land, including forest and land, worth 300 million won in the area of Gangseong-myeon, Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do, where highway privilege allegations have arisen.
Former President Yoon's deposits amounted to 660 million won, while Kim's deposits exceeded 5 billion won.
The second highest asset among retirees was declared by Choi Sang-mok, the former Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, who served as acting president, with about 4.5 billion won.
Hong Joon-pyo, the former mayor who resigned from the position of Daegu mayor to participate in the People Power Party's presidential primary, was third with 4.2 billion won.
Although not among the top asset holders, Kim Moon-soo, the former Minister of Employment and Labor and a former presidential candidate for the People Power Party, declared assets of 1 billion won.
Assets of the presidential office staff and high-ranking officials appointed by the new government, including President Lee Jae-myung, who took office last month, are scheduled to be disclosed this fall.
