Additional Consumer Promotion Program Planned... Expectation for Revitalization of Local Commerce
[Financial News]
On the fourth day of the livelihood recovery consumer coupon application, Minister Yoon Ho-jung visited the Siheung 1-dong Community Center in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul on the 24th, requesting meticulous attention to ensure that there is no inconvenience to the public in the application and distribution process of consumer coupons.
He then visited a nearby traditional market to promote the use of consumer coupons and requested cooperation for the spread of 'value consumption' to revive the local economy and neighborhood commerce.
On this day, Minister Yoon visited the Siheung 1-dong Community Center to directly check the waiting areas for local residents, application reception desks, distribution procedures, and the supply of prepaid cards, and encouraged the local government officials on site.
In particular, Minister Yoon urged the mobilization of all administrative power to ensure that all residents receive consumer coupons without any blind spots.
He requested the proactive and preemptive operation of 'visiting applications' where local government officials visit directly to register for the elderly and disabled who have difficulty moving.
Since many of the residents visiting the community center directly are elderly who find online applications difficult, he requested sufficient indoor waiting space as a safety measure against the heatwave.
Recently, some local governments have had issues with exposing vulnerable groups due to the denomination marking of prepaid cards and color distinctions of cards, so he urged careful consideration throughout the consumer coupon process, including application and distribution methods, guidance, and promotional phrases, prioritizing public safety and human rights.
Minister Yoon visited the nearby traditional market, Hyundae Market, to listen to the difficulties of market merchants suffering from consumption stagnation, and requested cooperation for the promotion of consumer coupon usage and the spread of 'value consumption' through consumer coupons.
On this day, Minister Yoon personally attached stickers indicating stores where consumer coupons can be used at small business stores, encouraging promotion of the usage locations, and requested active cooperation from market merchants to ensure that residents do not experience inconvenience in the process of using consumer coupons.
He listened to the difficulties such as sluggish sales experienced by market merchants and expressed his commitment to focusing on preparing swift and effective consumption activation measures to increase small business sales through consumer coupons.
Minister Yoon stated, "Today, I could vividly feel that consumer coupons are revitalizing local commerce," and added, "We will prepare additional consumer promotion programs so that the positive energy of regional economic recovery through consumer coupons can lead to domestic demand stimulation and local commerce revitalization."
He also expressed deep gratitude to the local government officials working hard on-site to ensure the smooth application, distribution, and use of consumer coupons.
