[Financial News] The Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute under the Ministry of Environment announced that it held the '2025 Environmental Startup & Commercialization Alumni Meeting (Homecoming Day)' at the War Memorial Peace and Park Convention in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, on the 24th.
This event, now in its third year, was planned to allow environmental companies in similar fields or at various stages of growth to share their business experiences and success strategies with each other.
The event was attended by over 150 companies participating in startup and commercialization support projects related to the Ministry of Environment and the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute, and there will be a time to introduce the technologies and products of participating companies for collaboration between companies.
A special lecture on open innovation, one of the collaboration methods between environmental companies and large corporations, and a dialogue between companies and investors who have overcome problems encountered in the investment attraction process are also prepared. Customized consultations on policy fund loans, eco-friendly certifications, and 'regulatory sandbox' are also operated to provide practical help to participating companies.
Kim Young-ki, Head of the Environmental Technology Industry Division at the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute, said, "I hope this event will become an opportunity for practical collaboration among environmental companies and lead to investment attraction for participating companies," and added, "We will continue to support the continuous growth of small and medium-sized environmental companies through diverse support such as commercialization, investment attraction, overseas expansion, and loans."
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Environment and the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute are operating step-by-step support projects covering the entire process from discovering promising startup materials to commercialization, such as the Environmental Startup Grand Prize, Eco-Startup support project, and commercialization support project for small and medium-sized environmental companies. From 2021 to 2024, 1,158 small and medium-sized environmental companies received support, generating sales of 564.4 billion won and hiring 2,341 new employees.
