Laying the Foundation for Inheriting Founding Ideals and Sustainable Growth
[Financial News] Yuhan Corporation announced on the 24th that it will proceed with the renovation of its old headquarters to commemorate its 100th anniversary in 2026.
The old headquarters is located right next to the current main office building in Daebang-dong, Dongjak-gu, Seoul.
The old headquarters undergoing renovation has a building area of 4492m2 and a total area of 11,948m2, consisting of two buildings with an additional floor each, making them three and four stories high.
The old headquarters was used as an office and production factory for about 35 years from 1962 to 1997, giving it high historical value. The exterior will be preserved as much as possible, while the interior will be renovated in a modern style. The renovation of the old headquarters aims to be completed before June 20, next year's founding anniversary, and is currently under construction.
One of the old headquarters buildings will be an exhibition building, consisting of exhibition halls such as a memorial hall showing the life and management philosophy of Yuhan Corporation's founder, Dr. Yoo Il-han, a company history hall, and a promotional hall presenting Yuhan Corporation's present and future vision.
Visitors can see various aspects of Dr. Yoo Il-han as an independence activist, entrepreneur, educator, and social contributor. The other building will be a coexistence building, consisting of a multipurpose hall, pavilion, cafe, etc., and will be a community-friendly complex cultural space that anyone, including Yuhan Corporation employees and local residents, can use.
A Yuhan Corporation representative said, “This renovation commemorating Yuhan Corporation's 100-year history is a meaningful project to inherit the spirit of founder Dr. Yoo Il-han and create a space that can be shared with future generations,” adding, “We are also planning an open space with the local community, hoping that more people can experience Yuhan Corporation's philosophy and values.”
