JobPlanet Analysis... IT is autonomous, service jobs still have cautious vacations
[Financial News] 1 out of 3 office workers uses only 7 days or less of vacation per year. Especially in some sectors such as service, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals, more than half responded that using annual leave requires 'caution'.
JobPlanet announced on the 25th that as a result of analyzing 25,000 premium reviews from the first half of 2025, 29.8% of all respondents answered that they used '7 days or less of vacation per year'.
‘8-14 days’ was the most common at 40.3%, ‘15-21 days’ was 27.6%, ‘22-29 days’ was 1.7%, and ‘30 days or more’ was 0.6%.
Perceptions of the autonomy of using annual leave also varied. The response 'can be used freely' was the most at 34.8%, but the response 'date designated by the company' also reached 24.5%. Additionally, 'can be used without much notice' (23.3%), 'slightly cautious' (14.5%), 'difficult to use due to caution' (3%), indicating that 4 out of 10 people still feel restrictions.
The disparity by job category was also clear. The development sector had the highest response rate of 41.2% for using more than 15 days of vacation, followed by research and development (38.5%), data (36.9%), and engineering (34.2%). The response 'can use annual leave freely' was also nearly 10% higher than average in development (45.1%) and data (44.4%). This is interpreted as a reflection of an autonomous organizational culture.
On the other hand, in the service and customer support sectors, 'annual vacation of 7 days or less' exceeded the majority at 51.8%, followed by professionals (40.2%), production and manufacturing (35.4%), and pharmaceuticals (35.2%). Particularly in the pharmaceutical sector, the response that 'using annual leave requires caution' exceeded 60%, and it was also high in service and customer support (52.6%) and production and manufacturing (50.8%).
A JobPlanet representative said, “Rather than the vacation system itself, how the organization operates and accepts the system determines the experience of the members,” adding, “JobPlanet premium reviews contain the actual experiences of members, allowing us to look into the actual working environment, not just the outward appearance of the company.”
