[Financial News] The Presidential Office stated on the 23rd regarding the voluntary resignation of Kang Sun-woo, the Minister of Gender Equality and Family candidate, "The Presidential Office will quickly find a candidate for the Minister of Gender Equality and Family who meets public expectations."
Kang Yoo-jung, spokesperson for the Presidential Office, held a briefing at the Yongsan Presidential Office that day and said, "Minister of Gender Equality and Family candidate Kang Sun-woo conveyed her intention to resign to Kang Hoon-shik, the Chief Secretary to the President, around 2:30 PM today."
Chief Secretary Kang, who received Kang candidate's intention to voluntarily resign, reported this to President Lee Jae-myung. Candidate Kang announced her intention to voluntarily resign on her personal social networking service (SNS) about an hour after notifying the Presidential Office of her intention to resign. It is understood that President Lee did not have any particular comment upon receiving the report of Kang candidate's voluntary resignation.
Spokesperson Kang said, "Although we are conducting the personnel verification process meticulously and rigorously, we will thoroughly strive to find a candidate that meets public expectations through more diverse methods," and added, "We will ensure the personnel verification process is conducted with strictness in line with public opinion."
