[Financial News] The Space Aviation Agency announced that it has organized its own 'Nuriho 4th Launch TF' to systematically and efficiently prepare for the 4th launch of Nuriho (KSLV-II or Korean Launch Vehicle), scheduled for November this year, and held an inaugural meeting at the Space Agency headquarters on the 23rd.
The TF, composed of five teams in the fields of launch operation, satellite management, launch safety, observation events, and public relations, will be operated until the 4th launch of Nuriho. The launch operation team will oversee the entire preparation process, including operating the launch management committee (Chairman: Head of the Space Agency) with the final decision-making authority on the launch, and the satellite management team will perform comprehensive management of the main payload satellite. The launch safety team will perform overall launch safety control tasks, such as operating the launch safety control council (Chairman: Director of the Space Aviation Policy Bureau of the Space Agency), which involves 11 organizations including the military, police, fire department, and local governments, and the launch safety control room. The observation event team is responsible for confirming and guiding observation personnel, and the public relations team supports media coverage, external public relations response, and operates the press center.
This 4th launch will carry the next-generation medium-sized satellite 3 as the main payload satellite and 12 cube satellites developed by industry, academia, and research institutes as sub-payloads. Until the 3rd launch, the Nuriho was manufactured and launched under the supervision of the Korea Aerospace Research Institute, but from this 4th launch, the launch vehicle manufactured by Hanwha Aerospace, the system integrator, will be launched.
Meanwhile, since the start of unit assembly of the flight model 4 in the launch vehicle comprehensive assembly building within the Naro Space Center last October, unit assembly is proceeding without a hitch, and total assembly is expected to begin in August when unit assembly is completed. Starting with this year's 4th launch of Nuriho, the 5th launch in 2026 and the 6th launch in 2027 are scheduled, and the Space Agency plans to enhance the reliability of Nuriho through these three consecutive launches.
