[Financial News] Megazone Cloud recently announced on the 23rd that it has signed a 'MOU for AI-based Sustainable Social Innovation and Community Welfare Promotion' with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and agreed to join forces to realize social value using artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
The signing ceremony held at the UN Green One office in Hanoi, Vietnam, was attended by Megazone Cloud CEO Yeom Dong-hoon and UNDP Vietnam Resident Representative Lamra Haridi, among other key officials from both sides.
Through this cooperation, Megazone Cloud will officially participate as a partner in the UNDP's 'AI for Social Good' initiative, a program that supports sustainable development in developing countries by addressing urgent social and environmental issues with technology, such as responding to climate change, expanding inclusive public services, and improving governance.
To this end, Megazone Cloud and UNDP plan to share standards and principles for the safe and responsible use of AI and jointly develop ethical AI utilization plans suitable for Vietnamese society. They will jointly operate educational programs on AI governance and ethics and develop practical guidelines necessary for policy formulation and practical application.
The two sides plan to explore AI-based solutions for issues remaining as challenges in Vietnamese society, such as landmine removal, air pollution mitigation, and public health improvement. In particular, they agreed to prioritize cooperation in developing a mobile application that can assist in taking swift action upon discovering unexploded ordnance and landmines, which continue to cause damage in the central region of Vietnam.
UNDP will collaborate with Vietnamese government agencies to handle cloud-based landmine data policy and governance systems. Megazone Cloud will contribute to enhancing the effectiveness of research and policy outcomes through data analysis, predictive modeling, and intelligent automation technology.
