[Financial News] Recently, a 60-year-old woman who underwent a facelift in Mexico for about $25,000 (approximately 35 million won) stated, "The results of the surgery are satisfactory, but there are two major regrets," drawing attention.
A facelift is a surgery that improves facial wrinkles and sagging skin. It is mainly performed by making an incision near the ear to pull and fix the sagging skin. This surgery improves wrinkles, sagging cheeks, and jawline sagging due to facial aging.
According to a recent report by the UK Daily Mail, the woman who underwent the surgery is Peggy Lynn Marchetti (60). She received a facelift, upper and lower eyelid surgery, lip lifting, and cheek fat grafting from Dr. Fabian Mendoza, a plastic surgeon in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Although she receives comments from acquaintances that she looks "20 years younger" after the surgery, she shared her honest review through her social networking service (SNS).
She mentioned her surgery results and regretted not having the surgery earlier. Marchetti confessed, "If I had the surgery in my early to mid-50s, recovery would have been much faster, and the age of my face and body would have harmonized to look more natural." She lamented, "My face looks like it's in the 40s, but my hands and chest skin can't hide the age, giving an awkward feeling."
The second regret is neglecting skin care when she was younger. She mentioned, "In my youth, I should have applied sunscreen meticulously not only to my face but also to my neck and chest," referring to pigmentation and wrinkles caused by UV exposure. She added, "It would have been better if I had started Botox treatments earlier and maintained them consistently as a preventive measure."
Lastly, Marchetti left realistic advice for those considering a facelift. She emphasized, "Plastic surgery is an investment for oneself," and "Prepare the costs in advance as if saving for retirement." It is known that the expenses she incurred for this surgery included surgery fees, hospital fees, medication costs, recovery facilities, and examination expenses.
Meanwhile, recently in the UK, a 60-year-old woman made headlines by undergoing a facelift in Turkey with 10,000 pounds (approximately 17.7 million won) saved from quitting smoking for 16 months, achieving a youthful appearance.
