Gwak Youngho, CEO: "Performance Equivalent to Over 60 Minutes of Solo Concert"
[Financial News] SM Entertainment's first launched idol group H.O.T. is reuniting after 6 years. H.O.T. has been confirmed as the headliner for a large K-pop festival hosted by Hanteo Global. This complete group performance is the first in about 6 years since 2019, and it is even more meaningful as it is ahead of their 30th debut anniversary. Notably, September 7, one of the event days, is the 29th anniversary of their debut.
On the 23rd, Gwak Youngho, CEO of Hanteo Global, officially announced, "H.O.T. will take the stage as the headliner at the 'Hanteo Music Festival' (HANTEO MUSIC FESTIVAL, 'Haneum Festival') held at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on September 6-7." According to Hanteo Global, H.O.T. will perform on stage as the headliner with a performance equivalent to over 60 minutes of a solo concert.
The 'Haneum Festival', being held for the first time this year, is expected to be a historic performance in many ways. Special stages by K-pop artists from the 1st to the 5th generation, who have been with the history of Korean music, will be presented. Especially, as it is the first launching festival, having H.O.T., a symbol and origin of K-pop, as the headliner adds to its significance.
H.O.T.'s appearance this time was made possible based on trust. Hanteo Global, for the past 33 years, has been the 'foundation of Korean music (Hanteo)' and the 'living witness of K-pop history', growing alongside the K-pop industry by releasing the world's only real-time music chart, the Hanteo Chart.
The organizers stated, "It will be a festival that will mark a milestone in K-pop history," adding, "Artists who will take the stage starting with H.O.T. will be announced sequentially later."
