[Financial News] A man in his 60s was arrested for killing his son with a homemade gun in Songdo, Incheon, and setting up flammable materials and an ignition timer at his home in Seoul.
According to the legal community on the 23rd, the Incheon Yeonsu Police Station arrested Mr. A (62) the previous afternoon on charges of murder, violation of the Act on the Control of Firearms, Swords, and Explosives, and preparation for arson of an inhabited building.
Judge Yoo A-ram, who is in charge of warrants at the Incheon District Court, issued an arrest warrant, stating, "Considering the seriousness of the case, such as the attempt to explode the residence, there is a risk of evidence destruction or flight."
Mr. A did not attend the warrant review, saying "I don't want to attend," so the review was conducted through document examination.
Mr. A is accused of shooting and killing his son Mr. B (33) with a homemade gun at an apartment in Songdo-dong, Incheon, on the 20th.
On the day of the crime, it was Mr. A's birthday, and Mr. B held a party, attended by Mr. B, his wife, two grandchildren, and acquaintances.
Also, on the same day, 15 flammable materials such as bottles of thinner, detergent containers, and milk cartons were found at Mr. A's house in Dobong-gu, Seoul, along with ignition devices set to ignite at noon on the 21st.
The National Forensic Service conducted an autopsy on Mr. B's body and delivered a preliminary verbal opinion to the police, stating, "It is presumed that he died due to organ damage caused by gunshot wounds to the right chest and left abdomen (side)."
