Woori Bank has decided to strengthen its headquarters support tasks and corporate sales by rehiring retired personnel from the financial sector. The personnel will be assigned to risk management-focused tasks such as internal control, monitoring, and credit review at the headquarters after going through document screening, aptitude tests, and interviews. The expertise of retired personnel, based on high judgment and deep understanding of financial practices, is expected to greatly help strengthen the internal control system.
Woori Bank also rehired experts who retired from the corporate finance sector for 'on-site corporate finance consultations'. Experts who worked not only at Woori Bank but also at commercial banks, the Credit Guarantee Fund, and the Technology Guarantee Fund will directly visit small and medium-sized enterprises based in the region to provide on-site financial consulting. Through this, they plan to contribute to financial support for small and medium-sized enterprises as well as revitalizing the regional economy.
In addition, Woori Bank operates reemployment education and customized career consulting programs for retirees and those about to retire. By supporting reemployment through various channels, they decided to comprehensively support career planning after retirement.
A Woori Bank official said, "Rehiring retired personnel is a strategic choice that allows the long-standing experience of retired financial sector experts to be utilized simultaneously in risk management and sales," adding, "We will continue to strive for the sustainable development of the financial industry and the utilization of highly experienced personnel. It is also expected to have the effect of extending the retirement age, playing a positive role in the stable career continuation of the middle-aged and elderly."
