[Financial News] A group that leaked and sold boarding information of famous celebrities such as BTS has been handed over to the prosecution.
According to the police on the 22nd, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Cyber Investigation Unit recently sent three people, including a foreign airline employee Mr. A, to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office on charges of violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.
Mr. A is reported to have made millions by selling boarding information of famous celebrities to distributors.
The distributors sold the purchased information through messenger open chat rooms or SNS direct messages (DM).
In response to the issue of airline ticket information leakage, BTS's agency HYBE secured evidence that could identify the operator and submitted it to the police and filed a complaint.
The police narrowed the investigation network and arrested Mr. A in February and two accomplices in March.
