'Solution Companies + Manufacturing SMEs' Consortium to Receive Up to 660 Million Won Over 2 Years
This project is an R&D support project to strengthen the digital-based industrial accident prevention and response capabilities of small manufacturing SMEs with fewer than 50 employees.
The support scale is a total of 20 projects, with up to 660 million won per project over 2 years. It plans to select and support technology development projects with high prevention effects and dissemination potential for small manufacturing sites in four major areas of industrial accident prevention, such as safety accident prevention based on worker behavior.
The four major areas are △safety accident prevention based on worker behavior △management of hazardous machinery and equipment △solving fire, explosion, leakage, and suffocation problems △AI-based integrated safety management solutions.
As an R&D project that conducts demonstrations at manufacturing sites, SMEs supplying industrial accident prevention equipment and solutions can apply by forming a consortium with two or more manufacturing SMEs with fewer than 50 employees. Consortia wishing to participate in the project can apply online through the Pan-Government Integrated Research Support System by August 22.
Products and solutions for industrial accident prevention developed through R&D will be supported for dissemination in connection with the Ministry of Employment and Labor's 'Smart Safety Equipment Distribution Project.' The Smart Safety Equipment Distribution Project supports up to 30 million won when SMEs with fewer than 50 employees purchase safety-related products.
Park Yong-sun, Director of Technology Innovation Policy at the Ministry of SMEs, said, "It is urgent to develop and disseminate industrial accident prevention products and solutions to SMEs with fewer than 50 employees, where 80% of fatal accidents occur in manufacturing sites," and "We will strive to promote digital-based prevention technology development that can effectively reduce industrial accidents and contribute to enhancing the capabilities of development companies."
