【Financial News Ulsan=Choi Su-sang Reporter】 Regarding the large-scale water pipeline damage incident in Ulsan that occurred on the 19th, Ulsan City found the leak point only after 48 hours. It is expected that if the restoration work is expedited, water supply could resume by the 22nd. On the 21st, around 2 PM, Ulsan City confirmed a tap water leak near the river by Mudong Bridge in Sayeon-ri, Beomseo-eup, Ulju-gun, Ulsan, and is currently conducting water barrier work to replace the water pipeline.
This is 1km upstream from under Sayon Bridge, initially reported as the leak point. Restoration equipment is being deployed through Mudong Bridge located upstream.
It is expected to take some time before normal tap water supply resumes after replacing the water pipeline.
A city official stated, "It takes about 3 hours to locate and replace the damaged water pipeline with a new one, but normal tap water supply is expected to be possible from the 22nd."
Meanwhile, due to this water pipeline damage, water cutoff measures have continued for two days in six towns including Eonyang-eup, Samnam-eup, Samdong-myeon, Sangbuk-myeon, Duseo-myeon, and Dudong-myeon in Ulju-gun since 10 AM on the 20th.
