Residents of metropolitan and special cities can use them within their respective cities, while residents of provincial areas can use them within their city or county of residence.
By region, the highest application rate was in Sejong, with 9.13% (35,362 people) of the eligible population applying. The region with the lowest application rate was Jeonnam (120,774 people, 7.17%). In Seoul, 739,747 people (8.10%) completed their applications.
The Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupons are the first large-scale economic stimulus measure of the Lee Jae-myung government, providing a basic payment of 150,000 KRW per person. Lower-income groups and single-parent families receive 300,000 KRW per person, and basic livelihood security recipients receive 400,000 KRW per person. Residents of non-capital regions, excluding Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi, receive an additional 30,000 KRW, and residents of rural population decline areas receive an additional 50,000 KRW.
The government will accept the first round of applications for the Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupons online and offline from 9 AM today until 6 PM on September 12, for approximately 8 weeks.
During the first week of applications, from the 21st to the 25th, applications are accepted based on the last digit of the birth year. Digits 1 and 6 apply on Monday, 2 and 7 on Tuesday, 3 and 8 on Wednesday, 4 and 9 on Thursday, and 5 and 0 on Friday. Only online applications are accepted on weekends.
The payment methods include credit/check cards, prepaid cards, and regional gift certificates. The usage deadline is November 30.
At one point in the morning, the influx of applicants temporarily paralyzed access to online application portals such as card companies and regional currency websites.
Due to the surge in inquiries, access to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's website was temporarily delayed, causing confusion, but access is now smooth.
