"Together with Everyone" Coway, Hosts '1st School Sports Club Wheelchair Basketball Tournament'

[Financial News] Coway held a wheelchair basketball tournament in which high school students with and without disabilities participated together.
Coway announced on the 21st that it held the '1st Coway Cup School Sports Club Wheelchair Basketball Tournament' on the 19th at Holt Disabled Comprehensive Sports Center in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do.
Coway organized this tournament to promote the sport and improve youth awareness of disabilities.
In the tournament, teams from six high schools in the metropolitan area, including Seoul National University High School, Youngrak High School, Wusin High School, Ipo High School, Janggok High School, and Hanbitnuri High School, competed in a league match representing each school. In the final, Hanbitnuri High School defeated Janggok High School 18 to 10 to win their first championship.
Players from 'Coway Blue Wheels' directly participated in refereeing and operations. Coway Blue Wheels was founded in 2022 and is the only team operated by a private company among the six professional wheelchair basketball teams in Korea. During the off-season, they offer wheelchair basketball experience programs in collaboration with various educational institutions nationwide, targeting elementary, middle, high schools, universities, and youth organizations.
Coway provided uniforms reflecting each team's individuality and Coway Blue Holes sports towels to all participating schools. Excellent teams received Coway's representative products such as ice water purifiers, air purifiers, and bidets as prizes according to their rankings.
A Coway representative said, "Wheelchair basketball is a sport that everyone can enjoy together, conveying the values of diversity and inclusion," adding, "We will expand support so that more youth can experience integrated sports culture through various programs, including the Coway Cup."
