【Financial News Muan=Hwang Taejong Reporter】Jeonnam Fire Department announced on the 21st that it ranked first nationwide in the 2024-2025 winter fire safety measures evaluation conducted by the Fire Agency.
According to Jeonnam Fire Department, this evaluation was conducted by the Fire Agency targeting 19 fire departments nationwide from last November to this February, focusing on four major strategies including strengthening new and large-scale risk prevention management during winter, public fire safety promotion and education, and special policies by city and province.
Jeonnam Fire Department analyzed the characteristics of the Jeonnam region, which has entered a super-aged society, and its regional disaster vulnerabilities to prepare various region-specific safety measures, recording zero major fires, and was highly evaluated, being selected as the first nationwide among 19 fire departments to receive a presidential commendation.
In particular, they developed their own policy by integrating a 360-degree road view system into existing map-based tabletop training, allowing firefighters to pre-identify detailed information such as building internal structures and firefighting facilities as if in real life, receiving high praise from the Fire Agency.
Additionally, Hwasun Fire Station was also evaluated as the top fire station nationwide among 241 fire stations, receiving a presidential commendation.
Choi Yongcheol, head of Jeonnam Fire Department, said, "It was a possible achievement thanks to the efforts and interest of the residents in fire prevention," adding, "We will strive further to protect precious lives and property."
