Strengthening Student-Centered Teaching and Diagnostic Skills...Expectations for Educational Improvement
【Financial News Muan=Hwang Taejong Reporter】Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education is working to enhance the coaching skills of senior teachers in kindergarten and elementary schools.
According to Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education on the 21st, coaching is an activity to enhance teachers' teaching expertise by observing classes together and seeking improvement directions through reflection and dialogue. It is not a simple evaluation, but the key is to highlight the strengths of the class and pinpoint areas for improvement based on objective feedback and questions.
Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education is making various efforts to foster a culture of cooperation and reflection among teachers through coaching and to establish student-led classes in schools.
In particular, from the 21st to the 23rd, a 'Coaching Skills Enhancement Training' is being conducted at Mokpo Gifted Education Center in Jeonnam Province for senior teachers in kindergarten and elementary schools.
This training is designed to strengthen the coaching role of senior teachers in schools and help less experienced teachers settle into educational activities stably.
The training consists of a practice-oriented program to enhance teachers' diagnostic skills, focusing on sharing actual class analysis cases, coaching demonstrations, and mock feedback activities to enhance the practical expertise of senior teachers.
The main content includes △Sharing Jeonnam Class Transformation Policy △Sharing Student-Led Class and 2030 Classroom Policy △Practice of Class Reconstruction Centered on Class Aims △Open and Understand Daily Classes △Practice Connecting Class and Student Learning. Senior teachers participate directly in coaching, analyzing student-centered classes, and discussing specific improvement plans.
Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education expects that through this training, senior teachers will enhance their capabilities as class leaders within schools and support the growth of less experienced teachers, thereby contributing to the enhancement of teaching expertise and school educational power.
In addition, it plans to continue to operate various training programs for senior teachers to create a school culture centered on teaching expertise and to redefine the role of senior teachers with a focus on the field.
Kim Byeongnam, Director of Early Childhood and Elementary Education at Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education, said, "Senior teachers are important class leaders who lead the growth of fellow teachers beyond being simple experienced teachers," and "I hope this training will serve as a great foundation for redefining the role of senior teachers within schools and for less experienced teachers to settle stably in the educational field."
