[Financial News] The family of Woo Hye-rim, a broadcaster who became a mother of two children from a popular girl group Wonder Girls, and the family of An Jeong-eun, who participated in the 'Stroller Running' with a child in the womb, were selected as ambassadors for the 'Birth Support Seoul Project'.
Seoul City announced on the 21st that it has finalized the selection of 8 teams for the 2nd 'Seoul Baby Ambassador'. The 'Seoul Baby Ambassador' plans to promote the 'Birth Support Seoul Project', a low birth rate measure in Seoul, in a friendly manner from the citizens' perspective and share delightful parenting experiences.
A total of 1,317 teams, including multi-child families, multicultural families, and pregnant women, applied for this 2nd recruitment, significantly surpassing the previous 1st application (about 800 teams). In particular, more than 600 teams applied within two days of the start of applications, attracting great interest from parenting families.
The 8 families selected through a fierce competition ratio of 165 to 1 consist of various families, from influencers with tens of thousands of followers to families like friendly neighbors.
Included are the 'Big Mountain' family, who are active as Insta-toon artists depicting pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting benefits in a fun way, and the 'Tto Wa Young' family, who will introduce benefits and information covering the pregnancy to parenting period through their first child entering infancy and the second child in the mother's womb. Also included are the 'Do Jin A Nolja' family, where the architect father and culture-loving mother go on outings together every week, and the 'Earth Star' family, who live with their pet cat, each showing different characteristics.
Already well-known to the public, Wonder Girls member Woo Hye-rim and running influencer An Jeong-eun reportedly applied after accidentally learning about the 'Seoul Baby Ambassador'.
An Jeong-eun said, "I learned about the 'Seoul Baby Ambassador' through the '2025 Seoul Stroller Run' and wanted to apply for the 2nd round to sincerely share the happiness of parenting with many people," explaining her motivation for applying. Notably, An Jeong-eun, who was pregnant with her second child at the time of application, gave birth to her second child on the 16th, when the results of the 2nd 'Seoul Baby Ambassador' selection were announced.
The 8 teams of the 2nd 'Seoul Baby Ambassador' will utilize the strengths of their stories to create various content and promote Seoul City's low birth rate policies. They plan to engage in various activities that citizens can empathize with, such as appearing in promotional videos (posters) and participating in campaigns to overcome the low birth rate crisis.
Video and photo content capturing parenting daily life, outings, and policy experiences will be posted on the official SNS account of the 'Birth Support Seoul Project'. The 8 families will also participate in various events and programs hosted by Seoul City.
During the activity period, a certain amount of activity expenses and childcare products will be provided, and special awards will be given to families that produce excellent content. Additionally, they will also act as models for major promotional materials such as Seoul City's official promotional videos and posters.
Ma Chae-sook, Director of the Women and Family Bureau of Seoul City, said, "The 'Seoul Baby Ambassador' is significant in that it is not just a promotional model, but a participant who has experienced the policy directly participates in content creation, which can lead to empathy," and added, "We hope that the 'Birth Support Seoul Project' will reach citizens more closely through the voices of real parenting families living in Seoul."
