[Financial News] The homemade gun used by a man in his 60s who killed his son in Incheon is analyzed to have been manufactured rather than purchased from a third party.
A representative from the National Investigation Headquarters of the National Police Agency said on the 21st, "The discovered gun appears to have been manufactured. Judging by its form, it seems difficult to purchase."
Mr. A is accused of firing a homemade gun at an apartment on the 33rd floor in Songdo-dong, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, around 9:31 PM the previous day, killing his son, a man in his 30s. The police tracked down the fleeing Mr. A and captured him in Seoul at around 12:20 AM that day, then transferred him to Incheon.
Regarding the suspicion that Mr. A confronted the police during his escape, they said, "It is a matter that requires the suspect's investigation," but also stated, "It is not believed that there was a confrontation." The police plan to deploy a profiler to understand the motive for the crime.
Meanwhile, regarding the Korean-American Professor Moss Tan, who made remarks suggesting that President Lee Jae-myung was involved in a violent crime during his childhood, a complaint was filed with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency on the 8th, and it is currently under investigation by the Cyber Investigation Unit. Thirty-four online threats against the president have been received, with 13 cases forwarded and 5 cases not forwarded. Four cases were closed before indictment. Six cases have been apprehended, and one case has been identified. The remaining five cases are under investigation.
Regarding Kang Sun-woo, the candidate for Minister of Gender Equality and Family, six complaints have been received at the Gangseo Police Station in Seoul, and investigations are underway. Concerning the suspicion that the spouse of Jeong Eun-kyeong, the candidate for Minister of Health and Welfare, holds stocks benefiting from COVID-19, a complaint was filed with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency on the 1st and assigned to the Yeongdeungpo Police Station for investigation.
